At the end of October, in Quanzhou, in the province of Fujian, in Southern China, the sixth National Farmers' Games was held. A quadrennial event that was first held in 1988 and during which more than 3500 farmer-athletes from all 32 of the Chinese provinces get together.
The novelty this year was, however, that the municipality of Quanzhou decided to purchase a 200 quattro model sweeper for the cleaning services required throughout the event.
The sweeper worked incessantly for seven days, giving ample proof that it is machine particularly suitable for continuous, heavy-duty work. In the light of its great success, the machine was purchased by the local authorities of Quanzhou and will perform the cleaning services in the city from now on.
Four months ago Dulevo France took part in a call for tenders for supplying of 21 sweepers, 850 model, to the city of Lyon. A complex tender, involving machines in special configurations and really tough competition.
Three weeks ago the official notification of the award arrived and as of this week deliveries will be commencing. The machines will be leaving next week from the Fontanellato factory for Macon, the home of Dulevo's French branch office.
The grand ceremony marking the first official delivery is scheduled to take place at the beginning of March at Dulevo France, in the presence of the Mayor of Lyon and various other municipal officials. Lyon's 850s are equipped with a water recycling system, air conditioning system, traction engine for steep uphill work, colour camera and electrically-heated adjustable mirrors. Twenty-one little jewls at the service of the city and environment.
f it is true that on Carnival every trick counts, it is impossible to say that the 5000 Evolution has played any tricks of fate, since it has duly swept the streets of the center of Cologne during the weekend of Carnival.
Two days of work during which some 4,000,000 people thronged in the center of the Westfalian capital, celebrating the Carnival among trucks, music, colors, and a real hail of sweets.
That's right, because the peculiarity of the Cologne Carnival - Fasching in German - is the amount of sweets, wafers, popcorns, and chocolates which is thrown from the trucks to the people shouting Kamelle Kamelle in the streets. Useless to say that, after few minutes, the surface of the streets was totally covered with sweets and chocolates - the dream of all children, the nightmare of all refuse collectors, and the ideal condition for a Dulevo sweeper. Right after the glittering trucks, there it was, so skilful and powerful: A 5000 Evolution, equipped with GORE® filter, which has successfully held the confrontation with the other suction sweepers present at the event. The unrivalled performance of this machine has been enhanced when, under the layer of sweets, the sand has appeared: A thick layer that helped the horses haul the trucks without slipping on the uneven and slippery porphyry of the central streets. And if this weren't enough, the sand was also mixed with the snow that fell the previous night. Collecting sand is a really tough job. The company that manages the cleaning of Cologne, AWB, has never found a solution other than having a team of 10-15 collectors manually collect the sand pressed by millions of people, after a clumsy attempt by a competitor whose machine literally blew up spreading sand everywhere. The 5000 Evolution, instead, has performed in style, leaving behind a perfectly cleaned strip. The principal managers of AWB were left astonished: In many years of experience, they had never witnessed such a great performance.
No less than a month ago, Dulevo was telling about its great satisfaction in having machines placed at all the most important Formula 1 circuits and the great importance that events of this type have for the Parma company.
Today we are talking about Formula 1 again to celebrate another great success of the Hungarian dealer Horoszcoop, which has had the merit of delivering two sweepers (850 Mini and Commando) that worked for four days at the Hungaroring, the circuit on the outskirts of Budapest that hosted the 23rd Hungarian Grand Prix on 24-25-26 July.
The machines swept the entire race area unceasingly and, once again, the Dulevo brand was in the world spotlight and, as always, guaranteed exceptional performance, which stands out every time for reliability and efficiency.
With the Hungarian Grand Prix, the number of Formula 1 circuits that have chosen Dulevo has risen to ten: the only brand in the world that can place itself beside names like Ferrari, McLaren and Brawn and almost risk stealing the scene from them.
Also this year Dulevo India has not missed the appointment with the CLEAN INDIA PULIRE Fair, held in Mumbai, the capital of the State of Maharashtra, from the 12th to the 14th November.
The exhibition, which has been also a success in terms of audience, with more than 6000 visitors from all over India and different parts of the world, has been a great occasion for Dulevo India, who - thanks to the capacity and the engagement of a winning and enthusiastic team of collaborators - is attaining excellent results and great motives of satisfactions on the whole territory.
This is only the first step toward constantly new goals that will have to be pursued with determination, capacity and passion. As always, everywhere in the world - Dulevo is a guarantee.
On 26th February, in front of more than fifty people, the Indian steel giant TATA STEEL celebrated the delivery of three brand new Dulevo sweepers, which - as of today - will be operating at KRL Infratech, the company in charge of the cleaning services within the TATA plant in Jamshedpur, active since more than 100 years and that changed the original name of the city into TATA NAGAR, the city of TATA.
Following the environmentally friendly trend of the Indian steel plant, the three machines (two 5000 Evolution and one 200 Quattro) have all been equipped with the GORE® filter, which is capable of retaining 99% of PM10 thin dusts, something extremely important considered the great quantity of dust produce by the processing of steel.
During the presentation, the president of TATA Steel, Mr. Raghunath Pandey, brandished a chequered flag as a symbolic beginning of the cleaning operations.
The whole managing capacity of TATA, together with Sumeet Khurana (Director of Dulevo India) and Nicola Chiapponi (Dulevo International Product Manager), after having unveiled the machines for the audience, have taken part to the coconut breaking ceremony. This project linking TATA, KRL and DULEVO will surely have a great success. Not only for the coconuts, but for the consistent quantity of the Dulevo cleaning products.
Even the motorway is now a cleaner place thanks to Dulevo. On 27 February the company was awarded the contract to supply 22 road-sweepers for motorway service area cleaning. The 22 machines will be stationed in each of the service areas present along the stretch of the A22 Brennero which extends from Modena Nord to Vipiteno.
In spite of its extreme complexity and detail, the Brennero tender was without doubt awarded to the best machine from both a technical and commercial point of view.
Besides the supply of machinery, the tender also included a full-service maintenance contract: a personalised assistance service including planned maintenance, plus the guarantee of a substitute machine when required and a maximum response time of 8 hours, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The tendered machines are 120 DK diesel-powered industrial sweepers, with a third front-mounted brush, air conditioned cab, GORE® filter and characteristic "Brennero Motorway" orange finish.
The final six machines were delivered to the customer's Headquarters on 27th June. The other vehicles have already been in operation for the last few months in various service areas, ensuring the high level of cleaning performance and quality that makes the Dulevo brand stand out from the crowd.
The awarding of the Brennero motorway contract isn't just an economic success for Dulevo, but also a source of pride; besides increasing the company's visibility and prestige, it has enabled us to uphold our commitment to the environment.
From 13th to 20th October, Dulevo is very much busy delivering the machines secured with the two most important tenders of the year, i.e. the ones organised by AMA (Rome's municipalized company.)
Those two contracts, which have been won at the end of July 2009, comprised twenty street-sweepers mod. 850 Mini, and twenty more sweepers mod. 5000 Zero.
The 850 Mini is equipped with high-pressure lance, recycling system, air-conditioning, GPS arrangement and a special infrared camera for night duties. This camera is also on-board of the 5000 Zero, which is equipped not only with air-conditioning and GORE® filter - standards for this model - but also with top outlet, water and greasing systems and high-pressure lance. Last but not least, these machines are also equipped with a new vaporization system placed on the outlet door, aimed at contrasting the dust produced during the dumping phase.
A total of forty machines are currently being delivered to the Tor Pagnotta depot and to the former headquarters of Rome's exhibition corporation. These machines will then be deployed throughout the city. The Tender Department at Dulevo, along with the Technical and the Production departments, has tackled with precision, determination and expertise all the difficulties hidden in the tender documentation, making what was in Dulevo considered as a dream - merely out of counter-charm - come true.
A dream that's now reality, and that from today will be under the eyes of million of tourists who will see the Dulevo units emerging between the Colosseum and the Fountain of Trevi.
From now on, three new 5000 Evolution mechanical suction sweepers, manufactured in Mexico, will be keeping every corner of the city streets of Cuernavaca (Morelos State, Central Mexico) and Pachuca (Hidalgo State, Southern Mexico) clean.
The machines, two for Cuernavaca and one for Pachuca, were personally tested by the respective mayors, who officially presented them to the local community during an official ceremony.
The machines were purchased by PASA, one of the most important Mexican companies employing more than 5000 staff across the country, and are in addition to the two which are already cleaning the streets of Torreon and Tapizco. So the number of machines delivered in Mexico in the past month has reached five, a great result which drives the Dulevo staff to continue to improve.
Two cities at the opposite ends of the earth. One in the extreme North, the other in South-East Asia. One is Oslo, Norway.
The other is Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam. Although geographically very different, these two areas have been brought closer today, thanks to their common choice: both, for their airports, have chosen the quality and reliability of Dulevo.
The company Avinor, through our Norwegian dealer OTTO OLSEN, has purchased 5 of the 5000 Evolution model sweepers, two of which are destined for the airport of Oslo, the hub of the Scandinavian flagship airline SAS, while the others are bound for the airports of Bergen, Alta and Troms?.
Thanks to their patented mechanical-suction-filtering system and their ability to sweep without the use of water, Dulevo sweepers are undoubtedly today's best choice for guaranteeing optimum sweeping performance in total safety.
The contract cleaners of Ho Chi Minh City international airport have, on the other hand, opted for smaller machines but with the same high quality; each day two ride on scrubber-dryers Mod. H 815 scrub and polish every nook and cranny inside the Vietnamese airport terminal.
Last May 21 an important event organised by our Portuguese VADECA agent, the public company EMAC and Dulevo took place in Cascais in Portugal.
The press, clients and international guests enjoyed a day of feast and fun witnessing a brief presentation, a practical demonstration of the machines (two 850mini and two 200quattro) and finally dined by the sea with music and dancing.

The last of the six 5000 Veloce ordered by VEOLIA Group, world leader for the services supporting the environment, has left the plant in Fontanellato heading towards Singapore.
The tender, won thanks to the constancy and collaboration of our local area, the company KLENCO Pte, represents a great result that is even more obvious if we consider the difficulty of the Asian market and the meticulousness with which Veolia examines each vehicle that is being purchased.
In the month of June, the export manager responsible for Asian Area, Davide Scimia, together with one of our best technicians went to Singapore to assist Veolia in the preparation of the routes and shifts of the sweepers. The vehicles will share the central area of Singapore and shall operate on two shifts each. Hard work that, despite the tropical climate, will not be a problem for this machine, accustomed to heavy work from its origin.
Last November, Piero Sacco (Area Manager for the African continent) and Riccardo De Luca, from the Dulevo After Sales Service, were in Africa for the first official launch of the Dulevo products.
Thanks to the collaboration with the Johannesburg dealer, MTM Bodies, the main distributor of cleaning products for the entire Sub-Saharan territory, now Dulevo is planning to attain a huge success in the whole continent. MTM is a private company specialized in the supply of compactors, cranes, lifting hooks, and skip-loaders, which since years relies on the quality of Italian manufacturers. For this reason, the meeting with Dulevo has generated a prompt enthusiasm in the two managers of the company, Eugene de Wet (General Manager), and Piet Moller (CEO).
The presentation took place at the Johannesburg Zoo on a wonderful sunny day, during which the main exponents of the cleaning industry, together with the delegates of the different municipalities, have had the chance to appreciate the efficiency and quality of the Dulevo products. The attendees have positively been impressed by the agility, the perfect performance and the look of the Dulevo sweepers and scrubbers.
Riccardo "The Buffalo" De Luca has stunned the public with his capability in demonstrating the various street-sweepers, while Piero Sacco was ready to answer with experience and professionalism to any posed question. This first presentation was very successful and represents the first step of a fruitful collaboration between Dulevo and MTM, who - united together - are ready to conquer the entire Sub-Saharan area.
The urban cleaning services of Malag?n, in the Spanish region of Castilla-La Mancha, can now use the latest version of the Dulevo sweeper, the 200 quattro, which will make cleaning and sweeping a much easier job.
As a consequence of an intense development in recent years, the town needed a more powerful machine ensuring efficient, fast, and easy cleaning.
These very features were highlighted by the Dulevo dealer G. V. Manutenci?n during negotiations: the town council appreciated them by choosing a machine that is suitable for hard work and is equipped with sewer cleaning hose, third brush, and Gore® filter.
Last month the Dulevo dealer for Canton Ticino, AB Metal Impianti with Headquarters in Mendrisio, handed over a Dulevo sweeper to the managers of the Urban Services Department of the city of Lugano.
The first for the Swiss city. At the delivery ceremony, in addition to the AB Metal manager, Ferruccio Binzoni, the Urban Services Dept. Director, Mr. Bianchi and division head, Mr. Di Gianfrancesco, were also present.
This order, to a place like Switzerland which has always been so attentive to ecology and environmental protection, has had great repercussions. All the local press dedicated a small item to the "new generation sweeper" (as Canton Ticino's daily, the Giornale del Popolo, wrote) which, equipped with GORE® Filter, will work to clean the streets and filter the air of the Swiss town.
TESCO, the most important supermarket chain in England has just decided to entrust Dulevo with the cleaning and good maintenance of its areas.
After a long negotiation Dulevo was chosen to supply four sweepers model 200 and two sweepers model 5000 Veloce that shall be sent to the warehouses of Daventry, Livingston, Goole, Thurrock, Magor and Litchfield.
Tesco has chosen Dulevo for the exclusive features that characterize its machines, such as the abatement of thin dust, the capacity to operate with minimum quantities of water. In two words because they are "environmentally friendly". The machines have been chosen to operate both in internal and in external areas, in the goods loading and unloading warehouses and in the major storage areas. All the machines have a waste suction pipe, to allow an accurate and through cleaning in any area, even those that are more difficult to reach.
